Who Are We

We are court appointed attorneys that do not take private paying clients.  However, Parents Defense Counsel (PDC) is not just a legal representation service for parents in the dependency process in Spokane County, Washington. We are a beacon of inspiration and empowerment for anyone entangled with Child Protective Services (CPS) or the Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Family (DCYF). Our unwavering dedication extends beyond legal advocacy, as we strive to educate parents about their rights, the law, and the process, instilling them with knowledge and confidence. Together, we stand strong in championing parental empowerment and ensuring a brighter future for families.

"Client empowerment begins with an understanding of the legal process you're embarking on. Equipped with this knowledge, you'll make informed decisions, navigate confidently, and increase the likelihood of a favorable outcome."

About You

Our primary focus is not on the reasons that have brought you here, but rather on how we can support and assist you. Life often presents us with challenging circumstances, leaving us uncertain about the best course of action. It can be difficult to ask for help, yet it is in those moments that we find strength and resilience. It is important to keep in mind, that when you find yourself struggling to ask for help, the Washington State laws and the Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Family policies are designed to offer you the assistance you deserve. We, as a society, have collectively acknowledged the importance of these services, as we firmly believe in the preservation and well-being of families. So, as you embark on this journey, hold your head high and approach it with grace. Let go of any feelings of blame or shame, and instead focus on finding solutions, acquiring knowledge, and embracing your resilience.
