Laura Hughes – Founder/Partner

Laura Hughes is a graduate of Gonzaga Law School, 2002. She has had a variety of experience in different areas of law. Her work in civil dependencies began with the Spokane County Public Defender’s Office in 2005. This has been her primary area of work for the last 12 years. She has worked with hundreds of families to navigate the complex process of being involved with CPS and working towards reunification of their families.

Emily Nelson – Founder/Partner

Emily Nelson is a graduate of Gonzaga Law School, 2001.  She started her career at the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office working at all levels, including both misdemeanor and felony prosecutions. She has extensive trial experience handling both jury and bench trials. She is a certified guardian ad litem for the disabled and elderly. Emily began her practice in civil dependencies several years ago. She is focused on preserving families involved with the state in dependency matters.
